Duties include escorting the Lady Mayoress, particularly to provide her 'Travelling Escort' at the Lord Mayor's Show.
The Light Cavalry also fulfills many other duties including musical rides to tent pegging displays.
Light Cavalry dismounted
Duties include a dismounted 'Carpet Guard' which lines the entrance to the Law Courts to 'protect' the Lord Mayor's coach at the Lord Mayor's Show.
The Light Cavalry also fulfils many other 'Carpet Guards' around the city of London.
